Girls' basketball avenges loss, advances to sectional quarterfinals

South’s 64-50 home victory over the Needham Rockets tonight, Feb. 25, was all about revenge. The Lions, looking to avenge last season’s 51-47 playoff loss, came out on fire and never looked back.

Just before 5 p.m. on Jan. 12, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Caribbean nation of Haiti. Death tolls from the earthquake, which struck just southeast of Port-au-Prince, the nation’s capital, are estimated at 150,000 to 200,000 people, with over three million injured.
